Cold Capping Services

What is Cold Capping?

Cold capping, also known as scalp cooling, is a non-invasive treatment designed to reduce hair loss caused by chemotherapy. During chemotherapy, hair follicles can become damaged by the drugs used to target cancer cells. Cold capping works by cooling the scalp before, during, and after chemotherapy sessions, which constricts blood vessels and reduces the amount of chemotherapy medication reaching the hair follicles. This process helps protect hair follicles and can significantly reduce hair loss in many patients.

  • Pre-Cooling: The scalp is cooled using a specially designed cap about 30 minutes before chemotherapy starts.

  • During Treatment: The cooling cap stays on during the chemotherapy infusion to maintain a low temperature.

  • Post-Cooling: After the chemotherapy session ends, the scalp continues to be cooled for a short period to protect hair follicles from residual drugs.

  • Helps preserve natural hair during chemotherapy.

  • Boosts confidence and emotional well-being by reducing visible signs of treatment.

  • Non-invasive, safe, and comfortable with professional supervision.

  • Can be combined with other cancer treatments without interference.

Cold capping is suitable for many patients undergoing chemotherapy, but it depends on the type of chemotherapy drugs and individual health conditions. Our experts will provide a thorough consultation to determine if cold capping is right for you.
